Ex-THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Drummer: 'I Still Love The Band And I Still Love The Music'
July 15, 2007The members of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have been venting on the Internet about their former drummer Chris Pennie, who recently left them to join COHEED AND CAMBRIA. The sticksman has responded exclusively to Rock Sound about what has been said about him by his former bandmates.
"It is a little disheartening to read what the guys have been saying about me," admits Pennie. "I still love the band and I still love the music. But there was some internal strife there and things were happening that I did not agree with. It is what it is, if they want to handle it that way then fine, I don't want a shit-shouting match or to be a posterboy for somebody else's press campaign."
The drummer's comments fuel the rumor that his departure was mainly due to a falling out with Ben Weinman, the band's only other original member.
